Jeff McAuliffe

Associate

Jeff McAuliffe is a coach and consultant with 35 years of experience in leadership development, process improvement and organization effectiveness to help leaders achieve breakthrough improvements. His focus is coaching leaders, mentoring change agents and supporting teams to create dramatic levels of improvement. Clients have included Amazon, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Microsoft, Group Health, Sound Transit, Port of Seattle, King County and Washington State Auditor’s Office. Previously, he served as Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle for eight years. Jeff began leading improvement initiatives, using methods from lean management as an internal consultant in Boeing’s manufacturing operations in 1991. Over the past 10 years, Jeff has focused his work on leadership team development and executive coaching. He actively worked with Leadership Eastside (LE) for 8 years, both in a team coaching role and developing and facilitating monthly sessions. Through LE’s training in Racial Equity Adaptive Leadership and other professional development opportunities, he has stepped into coaching and facilitating leaders and teams towards “disrupting racial and other inequities.” After spending decades as an internal and external coach and consultant AND clouded in the “luxury of obliviousness,” he is committed to positive action on issues of equity, social justice and inclusion.

Jeff was a graduate faculty member at Saybrook University (formerly Leadership Institute of Seattle) for 14 years. He recently taught a leadership overview course with a special emphasis in racial equity and social justice. The course was part of the Executive and Civic Leadership specialization within Saybrook’s master’s in management program.

In addition to coaching and consulting in technology, government, healthcare, education and aerospace manufacturing, Jeff has experience in accounting, business management, community organizing and fund development for nonprofit organizations. Jeff is a graduate of Oberlin College (BA) and LIOS/City University (MA).

When not at work, Jeff enjoys time in the natural world; backpacking and snowshoeing in the Cascades or kayaking on Lake Washington. He is also an active swimmer and, occasionally, picks up a guitar or mandolin. Jeff and his spouse live outside Seattle with three grown kids scattered about the country.
